Amp REM

Yesterday i turned my car on after school, started playing the beats, then i go to flip the rem switch for my amp and the amp doesnt turn on. so i go to the trunk and see if there were any problems and i didnt see any. So i went home and ripped my amp out to check everything over with my multimeter to see if anything was wrong and i noticed that when i connect my positive and ground wires to the terminals to the amp it turns on, without any power going into the rem terminal. When i put a current through the remote lead the amp is still running, then when i stop any current going into the remote lead the amp still turns on.

Does anybody know what happened or how i could fix this??
