If you need any help lmk mann lemme tell ya lol...those bars irritated me since my previous system, so basically 1 and a half years of that smh, i appreciate that man! 97maxima Posted July 7, 2011 Report Share Posted July 7, 2011 A few things to do. seal off the left quarter panel vent.Fill it with foam and tape it off. Pull the carpeted panel off your trunk lid. I dropped 1 hz in peak and kept the same score.Subs up port to the rear.you can either do a center port, off to the drivers side, or like mine port on each side of the sub. Your port opening can be VERY close to the trunk lid, you will find a few tenths in your score doing so. Meter seat 90 degrees almost all the way forward, visors down, no other interior tweeks will gain you. your resonate freq will be between 46-49 hz depending on enclosure. The 4th gen maximas are not easy to get loud. My trunk latch works when it wants to thanks to my BTL 18 i had in there, so now i have a speaker wire hooked to that safety latch in the back so i can open it up lol. If i sealed it up i'd be afraid i couldnt open it back up. Most likely it will be subs forward port side( not completly sure yet). Pulled a 143.6 @ 36hz on Money Man (Decaf) and 120 something in what used to be Drive-By, when i had my Old Solo X 12 on a zx 2500 in there (same design). If i can get in the 47's ill be happy, as far as a build log i have an old one that ill prolly add onto, or start a new one, once stuff starts coming in. Ordered the subs yesterday and the amp today,and the nifty SMD DD1 2 days ago. Amp wont be in till early August, but i plan on having everything rdy for it then. This setup did high 40s sealed. pretty solid nonetheless, aeros on the side were effective in that case.
