doeboi_79 Posted June 28, 2011 Report Share Posted June 28, 2011 so i bought my SMD a while back but i am going to be installing it soon. i took it out of my car about 1 year ago because i didn't really have the room. now with a second car, 4 kinetik batteries and my knew phoenix gold amp, i am ready to start a real build. i was hoping to get some ideas on what might be the best route to go. stuck with a 1992 Camry for the sounds car. i was thinking to put the amp and batteries in the trunk , and wall off my 18 in the back seat. some people have told me that it might be better to do a half wall in the back seat at window height. since i know a lot of guys on here have done more builds then me i figure who better to ask. thanks for any help you can offer. box size for 1 SMD 18" ? best tuning for back seat ? 93 Chevy Astro ,Big 3 / 300 amp alt Kinetik 1800 front & 3 2400's rear ,Kenwood KDC-X493,Pioneer 5x6's & 6x9'sPhoenix gold The One # 35/100Sub DD.Z 18"will TL on 5/5/13previous sub's and Spl scores, 1....SMD.......18"....147.2 Sealed ,,, 148.5 outlaw .. Was going for low and loud wanted to know more about walls than anything. What is a better side for the port? I've see then on both the drivers side and also the passengers, whats the difference? Should i stick with 12' to 14' of port or do you generally go bigger with a wall ? cause the ports I'm seeing are huge. Also I was told "doing a wall you will not hit really low notes because the sound wave will not have room to mature". Is this true ?? Is it better to do a wall for spl and a half wall for music ?
