jrot Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 im anot doing anything huge system wise...ill have a soundstream 5ch and a soundstream mono (1.500) when im done. i would like to make sure i have enough alt for it. i have a stock 80amp alt at the moment and even though ive only got the 5ch in as of now i get a touch of light fade at night on bigger hits...now im pretty sure doing my big3 i could solve that when only using the one amp but my concern is when i put in the second...now, there are a few options here 1. i can use an alt from a mr2 that is a 100amp or a company makes a rewound stock alt thats 140amp, i like the idea of the mr2 one because i can get it with a lifetime warrenty vs one year for the 140amp, any advice would great, thanks in advance, and sorry for the really long post.

Or get a mid-sized AGM battery for the trunk and just run a line of 1/0 from front to back for both power and ground. Thats all you'll need, like you said its not a huge system, upgraded batt will be fine for it. jrot Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 thats awesome, so no real need to upgrade it then, ill get a bigger xs im thinking anyway, and it will end up mounted about a foot or less from the amps also so leads will be really short for the system and really not a ton longer for the car. thanks for the advice
