kylevhick Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 im looking to buy a new ford fiesta which happens to be a hybrid car my question is - can i upgrade the alternator?without frying all the electronics or would it be better to do a dual alternator kit and keep the factory alternator with adding a high output alternator just to run my amps ? 1994 explorer alpine cva 1004 4-6.5" hifonics 3-ways 1-Memphis 4KW 2-18" lvl4xls DC audio 2-7" visor monitors 2-7" headrest monitors 1-3" rear view monitor 1-15" flip down monitor 150.1 @44hz
Guest DC Power Kyle Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Alternator is intergrated into the drive train. Unfortunately it's unupgradeable. Dual kits are useless cause the motor turns off and on. You can upgrade the factory 12v battery though and run a smaller system.
