Noobish question...

The van is white, after sanding etc. and getting all the patchwork finished I was going to get it painted black.

Since it's starting out white, should I use grey primer first to help darken it a bit before hitting it with the black primer or, is it ok to just go with the black primer right over white primer/paint and not have it show through? Seeing if I can save a couple bucks on a budget.

Sold the van in 2014, had it about 75% done, never did get the system in it. Bought a 2000 Chevy S10, still using the same amp/subs. Headunit is XO Vision X538. It's 52x4w, has a dvd player, auto flip out 7" touch screen plus alot more and is a single din.

Thanks, I'll just use the black primer since it'll take alot of to cover tha van in the first place. If any white does end up showing through, I'd put down another layer over that area better.
