Noise through mids

Hi folks. My name is Jwalks, im a junior audio head with a very basic system partly put together on my own. I drive a 98 lancer. I have a kenwood Headunit, a speaker line input to rca adapter (head unit upgrade coming soon,gonna ditch the adapter garbage lol). I'm using a jl audio m6450 amplifier. The amp powers a pair of boss tweeters (soon gonna ditch those as well) and the 4 stock Mitsubishi speakers. For bass i have a 10" kicker comp in a sealed box. Today i drove around enjoying my music as normal. Got to Utech to pay a visit to some friends, got in the car to leave, started up, hit play on the mp3 player and waited for the amp to turn on. As it did there was a great amount of noise coming through the mids and tweeters. It was very loud and was unaffected by the radio. I could turn it on or off and no change, no difference when volume was changed. No idea where to begin trouble shooting. Help would be appreciated. Thx in advance! :-D

your going to need to find out if its the head unit or the amp you can start by unplugging the amp from the head unit get a head jack to rca adapter and plug your ipod directly to the amp and see if you get the sound going to your speakers if not then you need to then go to the deck and see if its the rca's try grounding them could have blown a pico fuse also check your grounds and fuses also for got to add you might want to also diconect all the speaker in the car from the amp and just use one you know is good and just hook it to the amp running off your ipod and see if you still have that noise
