Box rebuild for RE SX 18

I want to build a new box for my RE SX 18. My old box is starting to bore me. I came up with a couple of possible designs. I read somewhere that this sub can do about 1500 RMS no problem in the right box. Well the person that wrote that didn't specify what the "right" box is. I want to get the loudest output I can from this thing. It's going in a 2006 Expedition, so I have enough room for whatever sized box I need. Sub up, port back.

1.5inch thick MDF

Option 1

7.19ft^3 net volume tuned to 34.00 Hz

82.50in^2 port area - 11.47in^2 port area per foot

Option 2

8.94ft^3 net volume tuned to 35.97 Hz

105in^2 port area - 11.74in^2 port area per foot

Which of the two would you chose? Am I on the right track? (Second time building a box)
