Colin - STAPUFT Posted September 10, 2011 Report Share Posted September 10, 2011 Pretty sure they do bolt up to the block. The problem you run into is that the intake manifold bolts that go into the cylinder heads are at a different angle on the Vortec heads. So this means- new Vortec intake manifold too. This could also mean new Vortec Injection, linkage, etc... AAAND- depending on the application, your bolts in the front of the heads that hold the accessories and serpentine belt assembly on could be in different locations or not there at all. So, there are a lot of variables with the whole thing. I thought about going Vortec when I re-did my 4.3 Then the deeper I got into the research, the easier it became to either go 350, or just go stock.
