mattp Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Posted September 27, 2011 Smaller box more control with a lot of power. Bigger box more efficient with less power. You should be fine matt. Wire that 7.5 down low and put up some big numbers Got mwspl finals next weekend, the subs are d2 got them wired to 2 onm. Subs new just out of box. Was going to wire them down to .5 ohm for finals. I'm doing a burp class and a music class, you think the subs will be fine at .5 ohm for the music run. It's a 30sec run? jj53913 Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Totally different boxes but I ran my 2 xl18s off a sd8k@1 ohm in bass boxing so I did 3 30 second runs back to back on a pretty warm day but at the end of my 3rd run they were warm and a hint of smell. They were in a 6th order though. Those 3 runs were after lots of demos and 3 db drag runs. Set gains properly play a song that's a lil above your tuning and you should be fine. For example I peak at 37hz and burp there. But when I do my p&p run I use airforces which peaks at 41-42 hz its easier on my electrical and is louder than juicebox which is 38hz Quote TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz.
