MrClean636
Question for anyone that can give advice! I have an upgraded alternator in my 02 impala, a 300amp iraggi alternator. It pushes 170 amps at idle and 300 amps at 1,800 RPM. The alternator however pushes a higher voltage out than the stock alternator. At idle it pushes 15.6volts and at 1,800 it pushes 15.8volts. Now with that voltage I have an regular Optimum red top under the hook while a kinetik hc2400 and a shurikin bt120 in the wheel well in the trunk. With the car off the power cells go back to a resting state of 13.2 volts. I'm maybe looking to change up the batteries to XS or maybe something else, i'm just not sure yet. So question is: These batteries have been taking that voltage for over a year now, is that okay for them? Also if I change the setup, should I upgrade to 14v power cells or am I misunderstanding the use for those? Thank you for the help!! Pictures of batteries below.
