corteznewbie Posted October 11, 2011 Report Share Posted October 11, 2011 i have a fairly new pioneer head unit and it has a built in cross over. starts a 50hz to 120hz on the lpf. also it has a + 6 and - 10 setting. can can the cross over setting set in the + range cause clipping? traxxas101 Posted October 11, 2011 Report Share Posted October 11, 2011 no, the crossover being set in the + range will not cause clipping in your hu.. but if you have the gain turned up high on your amp the high input signals from your hu will be to high for the amp and it will cause it to clip... but the signals from your hu wont be clipping bc its just a pre-out. just keep the crossover set at 0 and the gain on your amp set half way.. if its still clipping then back the gain off a slightly, always! keep the crossover at 0 and youll be fine Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
