knoslf
Hello all of my fellow audiophiles! I'm a noob on here but have had a passion for car audio since 1991, 20yrs later here I am lol. Anyway, I have a 97 Intrepid 4dr sedan and wanna do my 1st wall build for daily driving. Dont want anymore trunk installs lol. I am gonna order 2 sx 18s(d4 or d2?) rated at 1000w rms and was going to get the alpine mrp-m2000 which is 2000rms @ 2ohm, or the RE XTX5000.1. The Alpine is cea certified but I dont know about the XTX, but would love to use a matching RE amp. My question is, should I go with the Alpine or the XTX5000.1? Isnt 2ohm set up less strain on the cars electric system than a 1ohm set up? or should I go with a separate amp for each sub or just one big amp to power both subs? Is there a benefit in using 2? Also, i've seen sooooooooo many wall build logs in vans or SUV's but where can I see the build in a car? Not a hatch or coupe, but a full size sedan. I thank you all in advance for your opinions/advice....any custom installers in the Denver area?
ChrisLun
IMO I would go with the XTX 5000.1 just cause a rule of thumb with building a wall is go hard or go home., yes 2ohms is less strain on the electrical, but you should also invest in a H.O alternator from either DC power or Mechman. Addind a few extra power cells will not hurt either, XS power, bat cap and kinetic are just a few. As far as building it in the car, unless your going to pay a professional installer to build it, look on line and here a bit, draw out the PLAN OF ACTION....and just built it. 2006 Dodge Charger (2) Kinetic 3800 (1) DC Power 270XP (4) T1-12D4 (1) T2500BDCP (2) T400.4 7.5 cubic ft.
