MikeMartel
Hey guys, Built my first real sub box and i was thinking about going to a local competition sometime soon and get it metered. Iv got a 2004 Impala and i was just curious iv anyone has dealt with an Eighth generation Impala and knows its peak frequency. The main reason im asking for your guys help instead of doing it myself is that i have no access to a term-lab until a go to the competition. -Thanks for the help. Oh yeah, im running an 18" Fi BTL N2 tuned to 32hz, sub up, port sideways.
AA98hoe
Had a buddy with one with 2 dd9515s on 2 rockford 2500s his bobox was forward V sealed and it peaked at 40. I think the way your sub and port are that it will peak different Quote TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. MikeMartel
There she is.. and whats wrong with 32hz tuning . Anyways, im going to need to build a new box for it soon anyways, its a bit on the smaller side and not very efficient, its craving power. The thing is im 19 with no job and going to college, so i dont have much money to throw around on building supplies and such.
extremeauto
not bad for a first build...looks like mine and i have built 10 or so...lol but i really hope u use it with the back seat down or you gonna cook that sub with no airspace or cool fresh air Quote 1995 Honda passport 3.2 4x4 Frankenstein on a budget ballistics sound deader (roof only so far) kenwood mp3 usb audio control 3 (upgrading) hifonics mx-3 3 sets of massive px5 5.25s 3 sets of massive tweets phonix gold 5.25 componets x2 massive nx4 nano 200x4 mids sony xplod 600x4 watt high's 2 Fi bl fully loaded box walled @31ish hz 13.2 cube box/wall massive DB8000 Excessive amaperge 250 amp alt wir extrnl regulator daul runs of xs power xpflex 0 gauge big 3 raptor 0 gauge power/ground wire full run suriken 45 amp hour x3 shriken bt-120 batts, interstate 1100CA semi batt scytek galaxy 2way alarm still upgradeing! extremeauto
My rear seats are not the folding type >.> lmao. Ill get a little fan for it thats not gonna work man...lmao it reqiures so much airspace other wise its like setting a brick on ur sub and turning it up...do what you want but i would get that sub some more air space ...there should be some vents in the trunk on both sides near the wheels and bumper on the floor..i would yank those out to create some kind of breathing tube for that sub ...lmao not to mention ur gonna murder ur 6x9s Edited October 16, 2011 by extremeauto Quote 1995 Honda passport 3.2 4x4 Frankenstein on a budget ballistics sound deader (roof only so far) kenwood mp3 usb audio control 3 (upgrading) hifonics mx-3 3 sets of massive px5 5.25s 3 sets of massive tweets phonix gold 5.25 componets x2 massive nx4 nano 200x4 mids sony xplod 600x4 watt high's 2 Fi bl fully loaded box walled @31ish hz 13.2 cube box/wall massive DB8000 Excessive amaperge 250 amp alt wir extrnl regulator daul runs of xs power xpflex 0 gauge big 3 raptor 0 gauge power/ground wire full run suriken 45 amp hour x3 shriken bt-120 batts, interstate 1100CA semi batt scytek galaxy 2way alarm still upgradeing! MikeMartel
Well, what i was actually going to do with my new box was going to be sub up, and port going up right through the rear deck, then seal it. I do not have 6x9's i needed to take them out for the box to fit. Edited October 16, 2011 by MikeMartel
extremeauto
you could do that but it will be tricky tuning it and if you took out the 6x9s u may be getting close to enough fresh air and wont need to mutilate ur trunk vents Edited October 16, 2011 by extremeauto Quote 1995 Honda passport 3.2 4x4 Frankenstein on a budget ballistics sound deader (roof only so far) kenwood mp3 usb audio control 3 (upgrading) hifonics mx-3 3 sets of massive px5 5.25s 3 sets of massive tweets phonix gold 5.25 componets x2 massive nx4 nano 200x4 mids sony xplod 600x4 watt high's 2 Fi bl fully loaded box walled @31ish hz 13.2 cube box/wall massive DB8000 Excessive amaperge 250 amp alt wir extrnl regulator daul runs of xs power xpflex 0 gauge big 3 raptor 0 gauge power/ground wire full run suriken 45 amp hour x3 shriken bt-120 batts, interstate 1100CA semi batt scytek galaxy 2way alarm still upgradeing!
