Decaf Posted November 3, 2011 Report Share Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) distortion will remain present even if you've lowered the wave's amplitude/think you've changed it you can never fix clipping because u cannot correct the distortion created from it. take a 0db 40hz test tone, go to bass boost on audacity and purposely clip it. now analyze the song and you should notice this... harmonic distortion, notice how many other frequencies are present now lets remember a song can have any frequency pushed into clipping. even if you focus on just smoothing out 100hz (the hpf/lpf method that does not work) and below you will still have audible distortion... the waveform will LOOK fixed Edited November 3, 2011 by Decaf Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
