JacobB89 Posted December 7, 2011 Report Share Posted December 7, 2011 so re wiring a new/used head unit I got got everything but one wire together. head unit is DEH-P6800mp gmc 1500 1996 problem is off the harness that clips to the factory unit has 2 orange wires left, orange/white says dimmer and solid orange is illumination/dash light. Off the pioneer harness I only have one solid orange wire, on the site says it should be orange/white but mine is solid orange. pioneers sight says Orange/white To lighting switch terminal. so not really sure what one to connect I think its orange and white to the solid orange. here is a pic to help with my babbling. the1uwannab Posted February 15, 2012 Report Share Posted February 15, 2012 Honestly you dont have to connect that wire unless you want it to dim at night when you turn on your lights so i would say just leave it disconnected and cap them off.
