Hey everyone, my names Adamim from La, been trolling this site for a long time and have been envyous of SMD since the 1st time i saw/heard about it/him.

I got a few things on my mind and am pretty sure this is not the proper area to post this but here we go lol:

1st off, i drive an 01 Excursion 7.3 diesel so im not lackin space or am worried about running heavy equipment, i currently am running (literally "junk in the trunk") lol

2 15" kicker crvs(?s) reason i ? Is cuz i was running JL w6 12s but i blew one and got the kickers from a friend

Alpine head unit, single dim

Issues im having are the alternator 1st, what alternator would u guys recommend for me since i am in the middle of replacing it right now, trucks in the shop*

2nd, im looking to upgrade my sounds and have been reading a lot of god things about the DC lvl 5 and 6, well DC period, im not looking to go completely all out but want to have a system that doesnt sound like crap like mine currently (it sounds fine to someone who doesnt know but to me its lacking) I want deeper bass and then of course dont want to drown out my mids and highs (of course i will replace it all) Whixh way should i go? ALSO i do want to be able to run my sounds for HOURS, i drive a ton and dont want to have heat issues and have to drive in silence! Even now i am haing problems with that but its my crappy alpine 4 chan that overheats and i have to let it cool for a ew mins or run my a/c which i have aimed at the amp in the back, fine during summer but not during winter heh.. Im sure my problem is the area i have the amp installed, its got no breathing room and mostly the power it has both going to it and coming out, hence the reason i want to upgrade and also why my alternator is dead, it probably gets down to 12 or 13 not 14+.. so many questions/statements in one, i appologize guys, bear with me please!!

In short i guess im saying, help with remodeling my stereo, point me in a healthy direction, i jnow the people on this site know whats up so this is the only place i trust, thanks in advance!

Oh and id like to mention that budget is not as much the issue but i dont want to go nuts and spend 10 grand, just something new, good etc and most importantly something that i can run for hours***

And a little bit more about me, i have built race cars both turbo and na since i was in hs 14 years ago, honda civics, ac integras, drift corollas, gmc typhoons and so on and so forth, i have always had sounds in my whip, from macintosh to pheonix gold back when they used to be worthy of buying and og fosgates when they were blk and red etc lol... Yeah so im not competely a dumbass but as compared to most the people on this site i def am lol.. KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE

I'm not a genius or master of car audio. But IMO you want to start with the electrical. Get yourself a good alt. from mechman, dc power, etc. The upgrade your wiring to 1/0. Next grade the battery under the hood with XS power or kinetik or whatever you prefer. Make sure you do the big 3. Once your truck is electrically stable you then can evaluate you head unit. is it good ? have the right outputs? then move on to front stage rear stage or subs what ever you prefer to do. Not allot of info so i cant go on. Do you have any idea how many subs you want, what size, and what you hope to accomplish besides sounding better than what you have. All i know is you wanna start with the base first(electrical). like building a brick wall need a strong base to support the rest. Another problem with questions like these are its your vehicle. No one can decide what you want for you. I would do some youtubing and searching around to see what you like. Talk to people that own products or the same vehicle see what works and what doesn't.
