Freshman6969 Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 an active crossover is before the amp, such as the rockford 360, passive crossovers are inbetween the mid and tweeter 3 way is a woofer, mid, tweet youd amplifiy the signal before the crossover in a passive set up Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! dohckiller808 Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 active crossover is powered. you could do it off the amp. passive crossover uses the speaker line to filter.

dohckiller808 Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 active is using a deck, electronic xover on the RCA signal before its amplified. passive is after the amplifier.
