HomeLite Posted December 31, 2011 Report Share Posted December 31, 2011 Hello everyone, I'm wanting to build a self-powered speaker set and I was thinking about using these: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36667_FLI-Audio-FI8COMP-F3.html I would like to port 8" driver, but I don't have any idea what the volume or tuning frequency should be. Should I tune it to the lowest frequency response of 45hz? I want the speakers to have a bit of thump and be able to be used without a subwoofer, but most likely they will be connected to one. Would the port throw off the mid range? My other question is about possibly putting a horn flare on the tweeter. This makes the tweeter have a wider spread right?
