letemrip32
I personally like how it looks, but it's not built to specs for the sub so it's not the best sounding one out there. It's my first box so i'm proud of myself in that aspect. internal volume is 22Wx12.5Lx12H. Has a 22Wx7Hx2L port on the back facing up. Too long i know, the sub is a Jensen XS12 375W max 125RMS powered by an Alpine 3527S 4/3/2. Box is tuned to 35 or 36Hz i think? math is prolly off. I'm just starting out on all this and this is my first time, so plz b easy on me lol. Please if you have any suggestions/comments/words of advice or encouragement, it'd be appreciated. Oops a lil gap... here's my temp fix to c if this helps Tried to seal the inside edges with Silicone Here's it done and installed Sorry for all those pix in one post, i just like taking pix of progress and try and get every detail. I'll be making another box closer to specs if i get a better amp. Edit: had to fix the upload of the pix Edited January 5, 2012 by letemrip32

letemrip32
lil something for inspiration 1994 cab 4 10" level 3s with level 4 coils and extra spider on 1500rms daily was loud and got stupid low! That is awesome. I would totally go for that! I do need trunk space tho for kids bags/strollers and groceries lol. Ur set up is sick and i appreciate the inspiration! That set up must have cost a fortune. My sub i got off CraigsList for $5 cuz the guy didn't know if it worked and didn't feel like hooking it up to find out. He wanted $10 but i got him down haha. and it was a free amp from my dad so it's not real powerful and i can't afford anything high end cuz i have kids n not the best income lol. But like i said, i appreciate the videos!

letemrip32
Did you just trade the subs or did you keep them and just keep buying more? i'm a lil OCD so i dont like to get rid of things lol. But the AMP i really want to keep because it was given to me by my dad, and i dont want to part with it, and he had it in is old 94 cavalier 2dr to power his front and back speakers, he even said it blew his front speakers and he went thru 3 sets. But this jensen at 5 bucks was a steal in itself.
letemrip32
Ok, so i got a Jensen A300HLX amp to power the Jensen XS12. It was working great last night when i had it hooked up, not too loud but did give me SOME beat. i did a little bit of work on the box to cut the port in 1/2 to make less air flow (put a piece of wood on 1/2 the top of the box to make it a 1/2 port, i know its ghetto but i wanted to see if it'd work) I put the amp on the side of the box and mounted it so it's sitting sideways, so the RCA's are coming out of the top and the p/g/r and speaker wires are coming from the bottom. I turned it on last night right as i was finishing up and it worked. I turned it on this morning (granted it was 25 degrees this morning) and i'm getting the red protection light as if it's being over powered. But it's not. turned the gains all the way down and still green light. could it be just that it's cold? or is it how i mounted it? i'm at a loss now. i just got this amp yesterday, yes it was on craigslist and i tested it before leaving and all day and it worked, but it's already giving me issues. please someone help. The AMP is 300 watt max, it's 100 watt bridged at 4ohms and the sub is 125 rms and 375 max. I'll check the fuse when i get home tonight but would the light even come on if the fuse was blown?
