I would suggest backing your subs back from the hatch about 8 in you mean put them in the trunk more? the pic i took of the box isnt where its at now. thats where i set it while i was wiring up the amp & cap. How many boxes have you made? i could use some pointers on that ok well if you wanna know if your sub(s) sounds better ported or sealed, do some research on it. thats what I did when i built that box. makes a big difference! then see how much space is needed behind the sub so it has enough room for the air to thump real good. lol and make sure it fits in ur car haha. thats some of the pointers i can think of right now. other people here will tell you some too.
