System keeps cutting out. what do you think?

Recommended Posts

A bad ground will definitively cause the "Low V" light to come on...since it's not a complete circuit, it's not receiving the correct amount of voltage. Like the rebel said, take a picture. We'll decide rather or not that's the case. Remember, a ground is best when it's against pure shiny metal or some kind of conductor. If paint is on it...it's not a good ground.

Even if it's sanded a thin piece of metal for something like a jack or similar won't work well. It needs to be in a place where it doesn't go into spot welds.

True, I was referring to the frame of the body though, was just going through to basic of it.

I just took it a bit further haha

Oh I see now. was about to start trollin too. lol. Could the case of not having a good grounded battery be the cause as well?

New build coming soon.

I guess it could be. But he would have other issues besides the amp. For example, the car has a hard time starting or doesn't start. Electronics on the car aren't acting right.

Take it into a local auto parts store and get the bat and alt tested somethings f'ed up there...

It's more than likely not a issue with the alternator or the battery...

True true. I still think it's bad grounding on the amplifier though. It's the same thing my hifonics amplifier did when I had it grounded to my shock holder, moved the ground to the donut holder wall and it works perfectly fine now.

Well most of the time if the battery isnt giving the amp the juice it needs it will fly right into protection mode or wont play at all. When you said it keeps cutting out. I was thinking it was a loose ground or a ground on a painted surface.
