white4d96 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I am running a Massive NX4 for my mids and highs. Everything's run at a 4 ohm load, plently of voltage, gains set at about 1/3 with a Pioneer 3300bt as source unit. After about a half hour of hard use the mids and highs amp goes into protect and is warm to the touch. At the moment I have it mounted directly to a board on the trunk floor. I was thinking about using some standoffs to get it off the floor, but wasn't sure if that would be enough. Anyone else run this amp and have this issue? Should I be considering active cooling? Too many projects, too little time...

white4d96 Posted February 2, 2012 Author Report Posted February 2, 2012 It certainly isn't burn-your-hand hot, but it is abnormally warm when it goes into protect. It's grounded straight to the batt which is like 15 inches away. Too many projects, too little time...
