question about sound dampening

Recommended Posts

Generally speaking, it will.

HOWEVER there are a lot of factors to consider and take account for.

In rare situations adding sound deadener can cause a drop in SPL (if that is what you are trying to achieve), but that's just how car audio works... it's odd sometimes.

Also if you are trying to achieve higher SPL levels by adding sound deadener, there might be other methods or ways to go about it that are not only easier but cheaper. Box design, sub firing position, etc.

But again generally speaking adding sound deadener will help increase the volume inside the vehicle.
