Hey guys,

About three months ago, I got my first sound system for my car.

I got a

JBL P1222 Subwoofer (1600W)

Kicker 10DX500.1 Amplificator (500W)

I got my sub rigged at 1 ohm. Now my question is that since my amp is rated at 500 watts and the sub is rated at 1600 watts,

if I set the gain level to 11, which is the maximum on my amp, will I get any distortion or any sound/componement problems?

Also, another question. What is exactly the difference between Power Handling RMS and Power Handling PEAK?

This is my first set up, still kinda new to all this audio stuff. So go easy on me :P

Thanks,

CiviCity

If you turn the gain all the way up, then try and crank the volume on your headunit, you'll likely encounter problems. It's called clipping, which is not a good thing.

Hey stupid. I got your report. You cant type a coherent sentence but yet think you can run this much power? You cant even hyperlink on the internet. You have no mention of power upgrades. You just want dat big boom dat make dem bitchez panteez drop. Next time you report someone make sure the one getting the report isnt the one you reported.
