System advice?

My fiancee recently decided to sell his system because he needs the money. He is a huge fan of Steve Meade ( not sure if that applies but thats why I decided to go to this forum to ask for help with it. ) Anyways, I am going to buy him a new system and I am not exactly as knowledgable about this as he is. He watches Steve's videos all the time. He loves car audio. >.< I have to drag him off of Sonic Electronics everyday lol. Point is, I plan to buy him RE audio XXX 18D2 18" subwoofers and a vented box. ( I remember him saying sealed boxes were gay ). My question is, if I go with those subs what would be the best amp? Would I need to buy 4 gauge or 0 gauge wire and what would be the best battery to buy? He currently has 2 re sx 18" inch subwoofers, I don't remember what amp but I know it was a kicker and I know he had a battery. >.< As you can see I really need advice for this project. Please answer. I need to know what to buy so I can estimate cost. Any advice would be great. >.< I just can't see all of the hard work he put into his system go to waste.

Well deff do 0 gauge wire. Ill let someone else recommend batteries and an amp. And don't buy a box. If he made his last box get him a gift card to lowes or home depot. Good luck

where do you plan on buying this ported box? most of the prefabs out there are complete shit and wont make the woofer perform well. you COULD however get a design from one of the guys on here (ram designs, 412 cvx, ray, etc) and build it yourself with MUCH better results.

last i checked the xxx is 2000w. you could do a crescendo bc2000, takes 0 gauge. i'd also do the big 3 in 0 gauge and get an agm battery for under the hood and MAYBE one in the trunk as well if you really need it.

what kind of car is this going in may i ask?
