2loudisjustright Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I have up for sale, two dual voice coil 15" subwoofers. They are the old shocker x-tremes made by atomic thunder. If you know anything about these old woofers, you know they were a great spl sub when they came out. They were very underated at 600 rms a piece. And they put up good numbers back in the day. I competed with them back around 2001 in usaci outlaw 301-600 watt stock class and won my class several times. I was running 1200 watts rms a piece on them and they loved it. Acted like they could have taken even more. They like somewhere around 3 to 3.5 cubic ft. per 15. These subs were freshly reconed a couple of years ago by atomic loudspeakers. They are both dual 1.4 ohm voice coils. I played one of them for about a year after the recone and it is still in great operating condition. The other one was hooked up to make sure it played after being reconed, but that was it. That one does have a slight crease in the dustcap, but it wont affect how it plays. These subs were ahead of their time in design and are still great by todays standards, In fact, they look just like many of the 12 spoke basket woofers made by some the best companies today. Its very hard to find much info on them anymore.My bro bought them used off of a guy, then i got them from him.
