I just recently purchased 2 12" Alpine Type R Subwoofers and I need enclosure help seeing as I will be purchasing the required materials later today. The vehicle it will be going into is a 95 Acura Integra RS (2dr hatch) 1: What type of wood should I make the box out of? 2: How big should the box be? Yes I have researched and it's seeming to me (if I understood correctly) it should be 2.5 cub. ft. per sub Correct me if I am wrong, please. 3: How big of port should I be looking at? I would like it to sound nice my dad said If I am going to do this I mine as well do it right. So let's go with that philosophy and get some bass out of these things. 4: Which direction should I be mounting them? I was thinking traditional style and facing towards the inside of the cab. But I have noticed people mounting them facing up. My only concern is the sound wave pattern off the subs could possibly hurt them because they would be so close to the hatch that way. As for specs, at the moment a crappy battery and some Kenwood 800w amp. I just ordered a new battery as well as a Rockford Fosgate 1000d amplifier. Car came with a sound system that included two fucked up Type S 10" woofers, and some speakers that (imo) are pretty shitty by themselves. All the wiring is already there so hey, why not put a sound system back in it! Thank you for any help.
