Switching to slot port. Help please.

Alright, i am currently running two 12's in a sealed enclosure(1.25cuft per side) and i pretty much have a curved response curve. I play around 45 to 50hz loud and either side of that it drops off fairly quick. I like rock, country, Saxophone jazz (see richard elliot) and listen to rap on occasion.

I think part of the problem is the resonate frequency of my car is probably right in there. It's a 87 accord hatchback. What i would like to do is build a slot port and tune it kinda low. I used the Speaker box tuning calculator linked to on this site, *edited*. I'll put up the box dimension on here so you can see. I really dont want a one note wonder because i like music and would like to stay on the SQ side of things. Allso the box width is the way it is because the box fits just between the wheel wells and saves me the most space that way.

I will be probably be using 1" mdf for most of it but the smaller panels and port will probably be 3/4" mdf. trying to go with one port and no divider. I am open to suggestions if am am way off here. I also have a couple of 4" round ports laying around if that would be better.

one last thing, i seem to get he most spl from subs pointing rear. I would entertain subs up port(s) rear if it would work better.

Height 17

width 34

depth 15

gross volume 4.17

port dimensions:

height 15 (figured it would be easiest to just use the top and bottom of box for top and bottom of port

width 2.5

length 24

tuning is 32 hz

woofer displacement

.14

I know you guys get this kind of question a lot and i appreciate the help from the smartest audio guys on the web, that's why i came here to ask.
