nuttyjjr Posted March 12, 2012 Report Share Posted March 12, 2012 Well hey guys I drive a 99 ext cab s10 with the full zq8 susp. package I have the 16in 5 spoke chevy rims with the machined and cleared surface currently. I was wanting to know any tips or tricks to polishing them (tools to polish them and strip the clear ect...) BeatBox Posted March 12, 2012 Report Share Posted March 12, 2012 take the clear coat off first, there is aircraft paint stripper you can use, BUT make sure not to get it in the area between the spokes since it painted that dark gray color if they are curved take a small circular sander to them to get them smooth then pic up sanding paper, go from 3-400 upto 1500-2k grit, add water towards the end then use polish to finish it off, use a small polishing wheel that you can put on your drill did mine a while back this is how they looked, on mine i got the paint stripper in between the spokes and had to repaint that area after wards threw on some new tires Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
