Recommended Posts

Well hey guys

I drive a 99 ext cab s10 with the full zq8 susp. package

I have the 16in 5 spoke chevy rims with the machined and cleared surface currently.

I was wanting to know any tips or tricks to polishing them (tools to polish them and strip the clear ect...)

take the clear coat off first, there is aircraft paint stripper you can use, BUT make sure not to get it in the area between the spokes since it painted that dark gray color

if they are curved take a small circular sander to them to get them smooth

then pic up sanding paper, go from 3-400 upto 1500-2k grit, add water towards the end

then use polish to finish it off, use a small polishing wheel that you can put on your drill
