jbrad1973 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Hey I need help on what kind/size of port to use for 1-re sx 15. RE web site says 4 cubes @ 34hz. Is tube port or vent best? I can build a box no problem but being a sealed box man when it comes to ported stuff Im clueless lol. My measurements Are 17" wide x 42 long x 14 high. Sub facing up at 1 end. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
dahulk86 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 you will need your port facing on the same side as your sub and to tune to 34 hz u will need 3" wide port at 26" long and you will end up with 3.42ft^3 net internal volume of your box at the dimensions given.
dahulk86 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 and after woofer displacement it'll need to be 29" long if u go with 3" wide to tune to 34hz and your internal volume will then be 3.11 ft^3 you can also go with 2.75" wide at 24" long and get 3.39ft^3 internal net volume. hope this helps you deside.

dahulk86 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 if you want to go with aero ports to tune to 34hz you will need 3 4" dia. ports at 17" long that how long the kit is when you order them so no cutting involved. and your net internal volume would be 3.94 ft^3 which is closer to what your looking for and you would need to place those coming out of the side according to your dimensions given.
