hey guys,

1st time posting here that i can remember, but i had a question.

so if i have an amp that puts out 700RMS and 1400peak @ 2 ohm monoblock.

and im running 2 x eclipse 8200 12's which are 670RMS/2000peak 4ohm SVC

i dont remember exactly but theoreticly shouldnt i be getting just 700 to each if i cranked the gain all the way up on the amp?

basicly im wondering what wattage is actually driving my sub. (if theres a way to use a multi meter without frying it i have one i can use.)

and within that if possible turn up my gain from where it is now if the subs will not distort and handle it.

(i know it's more about signal clarity then power for distortion.)

and is there any way of telling my distortion point? (without buying the SMD distortion detector, if i could afford that man i would be so happy) i mean im doing old school put my head next to subs with trunk open to listen for clipping or any "badness".

for those curious i drive a BEAT TO SHIT 94 325is

and the system i have is.

jensen flipout (kinda getting old at this point, i think i got it in like 06 or something)

cadience ZRS6000d amp

2 x eclipse 8200 12's in a sealed 2ftbox.

4 gauge all around.
