rboutin2
Oh yeah, and during this, i made a few interior mods as well. Painted gauge bezel, and needles changed all the dash lighting to blue, was green, Didnt want green lights with red trim, too much like christmas lol I dont have any pics of the console before i painted it apparently, but here is a pic of my parts console, it is same color as the good one that i painted and put in my truck All the junk i took out of the console to help keep rattles down. It is the rear ac blower, some ductwork, etc. The way i attached my console to the floor. Most people who do this mod just use self tapping bolts to hold the console down, io wanted somethign not so iffy, so i could remove it a lot to work on the system and what not. Cant get the box out without taking seats and console out. cant take seats out without taking console out lol. So it had to come out easily without the possibility of stripping the holes or leaking water later on. Where it bolts in the front Where it bolts in the back Mostly finished and put in the truck I have since bought a parts console with a different trim piece around the shifter, and am getting ready to make a custom shift boot for it too. rboutin2
Truck cleaned up real good with the detailing good job on the carpeting too, looks nice man. Thanks bro. It looked waaaaaaay better than the pictures can even begin to show. My jaw hit the floor when i got it back from the detail shop, and my jaw was through the floor when i got it back from Auto trim getting the vinyls done. rboutin2
Now for my slot port box. I am really not proud of this box. It was built great, strong as hell, but idk, it just didnt sound right to me. my homie kurt bills says it sounds like a box should, and i could fix it by just adding an mdf layer inside the port walls to shrink the port area, but idk, im happy with my newest box so i dont really see the point. In this pic, you can see my old box in the background. It sat in the truck like this, port up subs up. Box was wider and taller than my old box. I didnt even bother carpeting this box, cuz i didnt like the way it sounded. it is actually still sitting in my living room lo, im trying to decide whether to bother tryign to fix it, or just to simply sell it and call it a loss. IDK.
rboutin2
Now some glory shots of the truck at nighttime for a break between boxes lol. Getting closer to my current setup today, and I will be posting some videos of the current setup soon. Waiting on my wifey to get a day off work for some hair tricks And my new dc logos put on just before i built the new aeroport box.
rboutin2
BTW, the first day i was playing the DC's full tilt in my first aeroport box, (after a week of breaking them in), I got my first noise violation ticket lol. I had also gotten pulled over just before putting my first aeroport box in the truck, and the cop told me why am i driving with ym fog lights on? I was like, um, their projectors dude. I was like, as far as i know, as long as the lenses are DOT approved, and the HID's arent blue, green, pink etc, funny colors, just pure white, then they should be legal. I was then like, it aint no different than what the cadillacs and other high end cars got on them, and he was like, umm, ok, well have a nice day. I was like wtf? LOL. I could tell why they looked dimmer than usual tho, my truck was really filthy that day, i had just taken a bunch of country roads that were muddy dropping off some stuff to friends, so the lenses were pretty dirty. but still, what an idiot lol! rboutin2
Okay, nuff messin around lol, here is my favorite box i've built to this day, (and i've built many boxes). It is 49" w x 21" h x 16.75" d. It is sitting around 3.43 cubes per chamber, tuned to 29 hz. It peaks in the truck , by ear, not metered yet, around 40 some hz. 2- 3" aeroports per sub, sub is flush mounted with red trim. I dont have any pics of the putting it together or cutting, cuz it was a really hot day out, and i was trying to get it done as quick as possible. at this point, i was tired of building boxes for the same set of subs lol. hadnt had my subs in in about a month, and was starting to have bass withdrawals lol I love how my wife helps me with my boxes all the time, and yes guys, *gasp* she is using power tools lol!!! j/k a lot tighter fit than my old aeroport box. Seats clear so well with this box cuz the subs are flush mount that i was able to even move them back a couple clicks.YAY still knees in the dash lol!! Everything is so crmaped in my truck, but when ur a big basshead, u dont really care lol. it is a worthwhile sacrifice Not to mention a wonderful back massage!!! It's the one thing that doesnt seem to fit with the rest of the car LOLOLOLOLOL its funny u mentioned that, cuz I've been saying the same thing to my wife for a while now. i am planning on it, but I dont wana rattlecan it, I want it done right. I am gna take the front and rear bumper to Midwest powder coatings, and get em powder coated black. Gna cost around 200 to do it tho, and I'd rather spend that on some new components and a 4 channel and eq.
