iceman1575
Hard to narrow if the issue is electrical or fuel. Sounds like both. Do lights dime at idle as it slowly dies? Get a ddm out there when its dieing. It doesnt sputter at all only when dieing? As its dieing what happens if you quick get on the gas does it rev up normally? It revs up like it's nothing. Next time it happens I'll get a video. Lights dim some (mainly because voltage goes from 14v to 12v, so it's a toss up if it's an alt issue. Quote POTATO! CleanSierra
Clean the carbon build up where the throttle butterfly makes contact with the throttle body. Sounds like an air, fuel, or vacuum issue to me. My '03 Sierra had issues when I'd make turns with the wheel turned to the full lock, and it would die. I cleaned my throttle body out with brake cleaner and it went back to normal. That motor probably has build up on the throttle body mouth. Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
iceman1575
I've got it knocked down to something electrical, leaning towards my alternator. I tried to start the truck again, and it didn't want to stay alive. After a few attempts at starting it, running it at 2000-2500rpm for a min & letting it idle on its own, the battery was for sure dead. Luckily one of the committee member's nephews had a Chevy nearby and gave me a jump and after letting his truck charge mine, it started up & idled no problem. Quote POTATO!
