Polar-bass Posted June 2, 2012 Report Share Posted June 2, 2012 Hi. Can anyone help me figure out why my amp is having "moodswings"? I am running an atomic 5000.1d. (the one that does 5000w rms in 1ohm) I have problems with the amp shutting down most or all power after half an hour of playing. But it doesn't seem to go into protect mode, no LED indication at least. Current is pretty stable and never below 13,3 volts, and the amp does not seem overheated at all. Solid 4 x 0 gauge wiring. No adjustments are being done to amp when this happens, just idling engine and playing music. I am running it in 2ohms, with two DD3518's which should be a pretty normal load for it. There is no noise, just a drastic drop in effect output it seems. The next day however, everything goes back to normal even though. This has happened repeatedly now. Please share your thoughts as my system without bass is about as fun as being raped by two baby elephants publicly! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
