ZachG Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Hey I got a 1998 Pontiac grand prix Gtp that I ran knukconceptz 1/0 through last week with a zx1500.1 hooked up right now at 4 ohms. I have the gain 1/4 the way & I just want to know when I turn it up if my cars stock electrical can Handel 800wrms.? Power wire goes right to the top of the main fuse box where the alternator power gets dropped off. 1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp supercharged2 12" Obsidain Audio V.1 on a 2011 zx1500.1 at 2 ohms. 20ft of Knuconceptz CCA 0 Guage. 2nd Battery is a Shurken BT-120. Box is 3.5cu tuned at 31.8hz sealed off from the trunk. 14sqft of Dynamat on the Rear deck top & bottom. Soon to be more for doors/roof. Gets low & loud Did a 140.5 Sealed at Battle of the boom in June 2013 dropping to 12.7v (need a alt mines going bad)
iceman1575 Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Mine ran on 1500 watts fine, with some voltage drop, nothing serious. Strongly advise an upgraded battery minimum. You should be alright on stock alternator. POTATO!

I did in 4ga, it helped. Definitely do big 3 in 1/0 and replace the stock battery, and you should be okay. You can do a second smaller battery in the rear if you want if you really want to get perfection. POTATO!
