Colin - STAPUFT Posted July 4, 2012 Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 Did your Big3 include a run to the starter? By removing the old wire you probly disconnected the starter. Leave the old wires connected. More wire never hurts! I agree. I think you might not have replaced the starter wire. This. Many cars are wired with the factory alt to the starter, the starter to the battery. There is no telling what the factory wire goes to- a relay, the starter itself or whatever. Hook it back up and have the factory plus your big 3. Just make sure your new alt to battery is fused with an appropriate sized fuse.
