Help please

So a buddy of mine really wants to make a custom enclosure for his 10's. We even drove and picked up wood yesterday.

But when it comes to an enclosure design for him, I'm lost. He wants something tuned in the 37-38 range that will have a pretty flat response.

Can anyone help me with a design? Subs are Kenwood kfc-w2512. I don't even know the recommended specs for these woofers..

Edit- demensions are 18h, 29w, 18 depth

Recommended specs for ported is .75-1.75 cubic feet PER sub. So I'd go on the bigger side to get the most out of them, and feed them some good size on port. What vehicle is this going into? Id build a box that was 3 cubic feet after displacements and I'd tune to about 38-40 Hz. Frequency response is supposedly only 37-300 Hz.

It's going into a montero. I totally forgot to ask him the usable space in the vehicle. Fail on my part. At least I know what the recommended specs are now though! Thanks!

They won't murder the lows by any means, but could make a couple nice subs for a daily driver. You just won't get CRAZY output, judging by power handling and frequency response. I'm sure they will sound good in a well thought out box. Subs up port to the hatch will be loudest I assume.

I figure the same thing. This guy really isn't into lows at all, that's my I assume he wants the higher tuning. He just wants a daily box that sounds better than his current prefab.

I'll post demensions in a bit.

I'm sure you can come up with something better than a prefab tuned to mid 50s haha. Get those dimensions and we will see what we can come up with.

With exactly those dimensions, I'd run with it, since after displacements, you'll be at 3.5 cubes net. So I ran Torres, and I'd run to the upper recommended enclosure size to get as low as possible. I figured a 3" port, which yields over 14" of port per foot and a total of almost 50 inches of port. The tune I have is just over 36 Hz which would probably be okay. Of you wanted it higher a minor adjustment could be made to shortening port length.

Awesome!

Mind posting a screen shot of Torres?
