burntcoil Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Hi. I currently have a pair of re seX 15's and was thinking of adding another pair. But since my space is quite limited, I'm having second thoughts. My current box measures 24"x28.5"x34.5, a pair of subs shares the chamber with a slot port measuring 33"x4.75" port area and 16.5" port length,. my available space however is 40"x40"x26" and i'm planning to build a walled enclosure. Since it is quite hard to mount a whole enclosure, part of the plan was to make two seperate boxes measuring 20x40x26. The real concern now is if the box I'll build, is going to sound good. Using the torres calculator and trying to go by the manufacturer's recomended volume (4cu ft) . I came up with this for each pair using the torres calculator and feeding the specs of my current box, I got this below is a rough sketch of my current enclosure and the planned enclosure (please excuse the ms paint sketch) So, what do you guys think? Am I on the right track? What can I expect shifting from the old box to the new one? I managed to score 145.5db on termlab playing "throw it up" with the current box firing upward, would it drop due to lower tuning? Any recommendations? By the way, I plan on feeding each sub around 800rms.
