Will this be a problem?

So today I just got the new bdCP Rockford amp and i'm temporarily powering two JBLgto804's with it. I WAY overpowering the subs so the gain is pretty much at 20% or so.

Well after a while, the sub started making a funny scratching noise when i pushed in the cone. But when i'm sitting in the front seat it sounds just fine.

I hooked up a ddm to the terminal and it read around 3 ohms (Should be a 2 ohm load but I have a shitty dmm i guess..)

Will they still be safe to play for my amplifier or should i wait for new subs? I don't want anything to short or an infinate impedance...

I'm not incredibly worried about the subs, i knew i'd fuck em up pushing 3x rated power. I just want to know if continuing to play them can cause any harm to my amp?
