I was going to get 2 kicker cvrs with a 1000 watt amp and I was wondering if anyone had an idea if I needed to get a bigger alternator or could I use a capacitor? Jessica Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Only way to know is hook it up buy a volt meter and hook it to the amp and see what your voltage drops too. I recommend if you drop to below the batteries resting voltage, like 12.9 to 13.1 then try a second battery. I'm running 750 clamped on my sub amp and about 120X2 on my mids amp. My sub amp is at 1ohm and i have a 65amp alt and an extra battery. With the engine not at idle i only drop to 13.9 on music, 13.5 on boosted stuff and dubstep.
