JRminivan Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 So my van got broken in (girlfriend forgot to arm the alarm) and they took my subs and amps. It was old stuff so there is no point going though the insurance. They took a Alpine MRD-1000 mono block, Earthquake Power House 120.2 and two Earthquake DBX10 with box. I have been saving this year to get new gear next summer but still wanted some bass so I got some cheap gear for now till next summer. I have a friend that was nice and sold me two Phoenix Gold QXe 12" for $20 and I picked a Phoenix Gold QX180.2 and ZX350 for $65. I tried googling the QXe but can't find much on them, I was able to find that they are 200 watts rms and 300 peaks. So 'll be using the QX180.2 on my front Kappa and the ZX350 on the 2 X 12" bridge to 2ohms. So each 12" should be seeing around 2-250 watts each, I would like to build a ported box for them but can't find any info on what they need. I was wondering if anyone knows what box size I would need for the QXe 12" subs? I have around 48" wide X 18" deep X 48" high to work with. I was thinking of maybe build one box per sub and building a amp rack in the middle of both boxes so the amps and not screwed into the boxes. Or would it be better to build one box for both subs? Any help would be great, thanks.
JRminivan Posted August 15, 2012 Author Report Posted August 15, 2012 OK I found this today on the QX 12" subs and I was wondering what box size would be better. I would like to build 1 box per sub but not sure what cube to use, any though on it? http://download.phoenixphorum.com/Manuals/Speakers/QX/QX12_Specs_and_Boxes.pdf Thanks
Guest Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 you could do a 4 cube box tuned to 32hz or so. one box would be better in my opinion.

The reason I would like to use 2 box vs one is with 2 boxes I could put one on each side of the van with the amp rack in the middle of the boxes. That will leave me room to put the stroller in between the 2 boxes.
