BAMF 5500D in protection mode.

I have 2 BAMF5500Ds I have strapped them in my previous setup and have had no problems with either of them. The other day I went to install them, the one I had as the "master amp" went into protection mode!! The "slave amp" works perfectly fine. I opened the cover to see if anything burnt up. No smell, all the fuses are good, no signs of anything!! I have just the one amp right now working with no problems so I know it is not the wiring. But what is wierd is when I went to see if it wasn't just a fluke protection mode, when I hooked up the power and then tried to plug in the ground I got a spark and then protection mode everytime. (remote wire and sub was not hooked up during this). If ANYONE in this SMD WORLD can help me I would very much appreciate it!
