I just finished wiring up my first stereo and I have three leftover chassis ground wires. I have a total of three plugs as well. Two of the aforementioned plugs mate with the factory harness and the third one connects to my stereo. There is a black wire leftover from each plug and I bolted them to my chassis. I was confused when I removed the black wires and my stereo continued playing. I spoke with a friend and he said it might have to do with my antenna wire acting as a chassis ground. The car is a Nissan 240SX with a Kenwood KDC-252U stereo. Can anyone else chime in?

It might also be grounding through other components if you turn it up this way does it cut out

I didn't turn it up that loud but, I did mention that I spoke to a friend and he said I could possibly be grounding through my antenna. I'll look into that tomorrow and I will post results.
