Kevin
I just finished wiring up my first stereo and I have three leftover chassis ground wires. I have a total of three plugs as well. Two of the aforementioned plugs mate with the factory harness and the third one connects to my stereo. There is a black wire leftover from each plug and I bolted them to my chassis. I was confused when I removed the black wires and my stereo continued playing. I spoke with a friend and he said it might have to do with my antenna wire acting as a chassis ground. The car is a Nissan 240SX with a Kenwood KDC-252U stereo. Can anyone else chime in?

Kevin
I connected all three to a single terminal ring and grounded it that way.
Sean Evans
It might also be grounding through other components if you turn it up this way does it cut out
Kevin
It might also be grounding through other components if you turn it up this way does it cut out I didn't turn it up that loud but, I did mention that I spoke to a friend and he said I could possibly be grounding through my antenna. I'll look into that tomorrow and I will post results.
