new H/O alternator. need help

i just finished paying off my new alternator. i bought it from a local electrical place. its a wilson 200 amp for my first gen explorer with a 4.0l v6. first off i want to know what if $407 was to much to pay. also its says tested 229 amps at 6000 rpm.. it says thats alternator rpm though not engine. what rpm would i be on mmy engine. also when i hook it up do i eed to have bigger power wire? i already did the big 3

6000 alt rpm would be 2000 engine rpm. most ratios are 3:1

Run 1/0 from the alt to the battery.

Beware of idle output. It will probably be slim to no idle output on that vehicle. See what the alternator does at 2250 RPM (Alternator Speed)

ya the guy who sold it to me said it would only do like 60 amp at idle. also when running 0 gauge from alt to battery do i replace the stock one? i did the big 3 from alternator to batterry but left the original wire on the alternator aswell, and then ground battery to chassis and then battery to engine block.
