How much can cabin gain affect your bass response? if any.

well I have 2 solo x 18s on a warhorse, its 17.8 cubes after displacement, with about 210 sq of port. I had the port length calculated for 35 hz by a box designer.

It is a wall with port on top in a 2 seat 2003 ford focus zx3 hatch, Ive read that the resonant freq of a ford focus is around 55hz. But im sure that is probably not based off a walled system(so it could be higher/lower) lmk if you know please.. I built and tested the box and I couldnt even hit decent below 38-39hz. The bass picked up the most around 46-48 hz.

could my cabin gain cause this? Do I have to confiscate for it?

Also Im pretty sure 210 sq inches of port is not enough port area for 35hz tuning @ 11.79 sq inches per cubic ft (especially with subs with slightly more cone surface then 21s). But in this case i think its even higher then 35 hz tuning am i wrong?

I need too lengthen my port and tune too around 30 hz, do you disagree?

I really would like too hit 27-43hz pretty decently, would love too be my loudest around 32-33hz

what should i do?
