Im new here and just curious on some equipment i should get. Im looking at the Kenwood Excelon x896 for a deck and getting 2 12" DAD BD subs and wondering what amp i should get and what mids/highs i should use and amp for them. Brand doesnt matter, would like to keep a certain brand throughout the vehicle. Just want the most bang for my buck, without breaking me. Please help!

Ive got a kenwood excelon HU too, its a lower model, but just cant remember right now. I like it a lot, was a huge upgrade in sound quality compared with my last big name brand HU. Im not really a kenwood fan, but the deck is kick ass. I've heard their excelon amps too at a shop, and they are great. Why not go with kenwood comps and amps? I bet they'd sound great, and a deffly a good budget. If the rest of their gear is as good as these HU's, then it should be a win all the way around.

your questions are pretty much too general also. People are going to recommend Morel Supremos ($2000/set) because you did not state budget on anything. So here is a list of stuff you need to get going on a system:

HU - you already got that

front comps

rear comps?

subs - you already got or planning to get

front stage amp 4ch

sub amp

RCA wiring

Power wiring

speaker wiring

tape,connectors,screws,zip ties, crimps etc etc etc

sub box - wood, clue, screws, etc etc etc

so now you would start with whatever money you plan to budget in for this project. start doing research on what stuff you want, what stuff you can afford, wehre you want to put your money into etc. Look around, go to shops (but dont buy), and get information. some cheaper products can sound better or as good as expensive products. know what I mean? have fun, make road trips to the next towns and check out thieir car audio shops. Then see what prices you can get online. When you do your homework, you will know if you see a great deal in a brick and mortar shop.
