Truck running, gauges not working.

On new years i was pulling into my neighborhood and my truck died. all the lights and everything went out. So i pop to hood to look at the battery, when i pop the hood all the lights turn back on and my truck will start back up. Close the hood to go home and the truck dies again. Same thing pop the hood and truck lights turn back and start it back up. I had just installed some buss bars on my battery so i decided to take those off and run direct post to my battery (XS 2400)I get home and throw the charger on my battery. I took the whole night to charge so i thought all was good. I turn on the truck this morning and it starts up but all my gauges are sitting flat. Fuel, Temp, Speedometer, and Tachometer. Truck ran for 20 minutes and was fine with no radio or air on. I checked my alt and battery. Alt charging at 14.36 (DC power 270). I take a test light and hit every fuse in the box to make sure i dont have a bad fuse, all fuses are good. Completely lost on why all my gauges are sitting flat and my low fuel light and battery light came on.

Does anyone have suggestions on what to check to find the problem.

My truck is a 2005 chevy colorado.

I had the same thing happen to my cavy. Try taking the cluster fuse out, and putting it back in. Doing that fixed my gauges. The fuse wasn't blown, it just needed to be taken out and then put back in.
