Shadow_80613 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Okay so I have 2 15in Fi audio subwoofers and a AQ 3500.1 amplifier I'm going to put in a 2005 Tahoe but I understand I Will have to do the Big 3 upgrade with the wires but I was wondering would I have to install another alternator? Or could I just replace it with a High Output Alternator and if so how many amps should it be? Would like to have some tips on what I could do to power this setup good and not have it underpowered thanks!
pontformulalt1 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 There is a lot of questions to what your asking. What battery will you be useing under the hood? What size wire will be run to the back? Will there be batteries in the back? But to answer your question I would replace the stock alt. As to how big of an alt. you ask. There again do you plan on expanding your system with more amps. That amp you are talking about I believe will pull about 200+ amps so take into consideration the draw from the onboard electronics and add to that. I wouldn't do anything less then a 250a alt.
